The Professor's Monthly Homework Assignment: Spring.

Yeah I'm a little late, but I have a really good excuse. Last night I was in the ER. I even got a pretty picture taken by my roommate to prove it.

I'm fine mostly. Apparently I had just gotten very very run-down from working too much and too hard. Retail work and auto-immune diseases don't really mix well. Also I may be coming down with a stomach virus. Nothing major though, so that's good. On to my spring inspired outfit I wore to work yesterday!

It was raining, hence the rainboots. I guess we got our April Showers a little early here in SF. Although instead of May flowers we're just getting more cold, wet, windy weather. On the plus side rain boots look adorable with dresses. Maybe not the "gawthy!" of footwear, but I think they lend a certain retro cuteness.

Plus they do make me think of spring, especially with the polka dots. For whatever reason polka dots make me think of spring. Which is why I'm wearing pretty much three things with them in this outfit. On my boots, on my tights, and sort of on my cardigan. The big hair flower was the extra icing on the spring cake that is my outfit.

Bonus picture of my all sorts of ridiculous face that my roomie/photographer managed to snap.

Outfit rundown:
Cardigan: White House Black Market
Dress: Thrifted
Belt: White House Black Market
Tights: White House Black Market
Boots: Sears
Hair Flower: Claire's
Necklace: White House Black Market

That's all folks! So long for now,
Caity

  1. How awful! Thank goodness you're better! I love rain boots too, mine are black with cherries. They are so necessary I can't believe that everyone does not own a pair!

  2. What an adorable outfit, especially the rainboots! The only reason I have a pair of rainboots myself (we don't get a lot of rain here) is because they were a “Free Gift with Purchase” from Victorian Trading Company. Unfortunately, they're brown and not black but they have flowers, so that makes them slightly better! ;o)

Glad to hear it wasn't anything too serious that sent you to the ER! Still though ... not the nicest way to spend an evening!

    1. Thank you thank you. Flowers do make most things better. At least brown is sort of steampunky?

  3. Are you ok? :/ I'm sorry you haven't felt good lately. I hope you're taking a bit of rest now.
I like your outfit, and your rainboots are so cute that they match it perfectly. I love the shape of the lower part of your dress *_*

    1. I'm okay now. I actually had a second ER visit on Friday and turns out my lungs were acting up. Just having an inhaler seems to be helping, so probably asthma. Also thank you. It's one of my favorite dresses. :)

  4. I'm glad you are alright! ER visits are rarely fun. I wish we had enough rain here in the midwest to justify rainboots. I should make up for it with neato snow boots instead. And, I love your sweater!

  7. Auto-immune disease and retail - I can only imagine! I've worked in retail for many years and jeez, all the times people come in dripping with snot, or when you can actually SMELL how sick they are from across the counter. Eeuuwww.
